Martin Campbell (b. October 24, 1940) is a New Zealand film and television director. He is best known for ushering in Pierce Brosnan in the first of four appearances as James Bond in the 1995 film GoldenEye, and again introducing a new Bond in Daniel Craig for 2006’s Casino Royale. He also directed the two recent Zorro films, The Mask of Zorro (1998) and The Legend of Zorro (2005), .
On television, his best known work is the 1985 BBC Television drama serial Edge of Darkness, for which he won the British Academy Television Award for Best Director in 1986. Prior to that, Campbell was known for some of the more action-oriented episodes from the TV series The Professionals (1977–1983).
